PHILADELPHIA -- The start of Game 3 in the World Series, delayed by rain, is now being projected at 9:15 EDT. The tarp came off the field at about 8:45, and workers scurried to get the field ready while a huge color guard filed onto the field for the delayed pre-game festivites. There is more rain in the area, so a delay after the game begins is possible. The starting pitchers (Cole Hamels and Andy Pettitte) had not started warming up before the delay. They started getting loose as soon as the tarp was taken up.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said earlier Saturday that he will use CC Sabathia on 3 days' rest in Game 4, scheduled for Sunday. Phillies manager Charlie Manuel had said on Friday that he will not do that with his ace, Cliff Lee, who is scheduled for Game 5 on Monday. Sabathia will face Joe Blanton.
