Captain Jonathan Toews is still sidelined with a concussion, but the Blackhawks were bolstered by the presence of two top players during Wednesday's practice.

Defenseman Brent Seabrook, who has missed two games with a concussion, was on the ice making it likely he will return to action Thursday night against the Predators in Nashville.

Practicing with the Hawks for the first time since joining them as a free agent in July was winger Marian Hossa, who took another big step in his rehabilation from shoulder surgery.

Hossa participated in practice at Johnny's IceHouse but wasn't involved in contact drills. He is expected to make his Hawks debut in late November.

Toews remains sidelined since leaving a game against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 21 with a concussion and likely won't make the trip to Nashville.
