Game-day decision on Sherrick McManis

By Teddy Greenstein

As the headline indicates, Northwestern will decide just before the 3:30 p.m. kickoff whether Sherrick McManis, one of the top cornerbacks in the Big Ten, will play. He has been fighting quadriceps and ankle injuries for much of the season.

If McManis can't go, walk-on Ricky Weina will get the call. Weina would be the 20th player to start on NU's defense this season.

Other than McManis, the Wildcats are almost at full strength. One team official said it's the healthiest the team has been since it took the field for the season opener against Towson.
